founded in the summer of 2004 by designer, maggie birmingham, lab 31 produces beautiful furniture inspired by, "color, pattern, tradition and craft." her "temescal" collection is full of solid wood pieces with beautiful inlaid patterns in a variety of colors. from benches and tables to chairs and chests, birmingham's collection is perfect for those in need of simple, striking furniture. my favorite piece is her mirror- the way the inlay reflects in the mirror just makes me happy. such a simple idea but such a stunning effect. for more information on lab 31 click here.

it's a little too celtic looking for my taste.
looks like something i could just stencil on and call it a day...
except that it's engraved, which is a lot harder than stenciling...
