jonathan adler

1

for some reason i think i hit a jonathan adler peak last year and haven't been as into the adler look for a while. but after seeing ms. lena corwin's house in glamour (so, so cool) i'm starting to enjoy mr. adler's signature works used strategically throughout the house. i think i just burned out on all those vases and seeing every television show set, magazine house and friends' homes full of them arranged the same way. they're clearly popular for a reason (they're quite lovely), but i think i just needed a little break. but i'm warming myself back up with these gorgeous couches (ranging from appx $2k to $3k) and my favorite lamp- the giraffe lamp, $375 (which lena has in her home). they're wonderful pieces that blend well into a number of existing looks. you can check out mr. adler's beautifully updated site right here and shop his newest pieces right here as well. enjoy!

i completely agree with you. a few years ago, i received some of the vases for christmas as well as a lamp. the lamps i still lov, but the vases i have to put in a place i don't see very often. but the new furniture and odds & ends are really feeling good to me. too bad i can't afford the large pieces for now...but love the bit of glamour that JA brings...!

i have mixed feelings about JA too... but i do love so many of his products and i really agree with his general design philosophy. i have day-dreams about the palm springs hotel that he designed/decorated! if i were to strike it rich i'd head straight there on vacation.

and i couldn’t love my giraffe lamp more…

Make this a trio :-). I have a tray (which I've now seen knocked off at Target), a vase and a pillow. All are beautiful but it does have that sense of being almost a fad? There's one of his new couches I want so badly though. I did see a knock off of that very couch at Crate & Barrel that I've been contemplating. Grace, have you looked at their website yet? They have some lovely designs right now.

Hi d*s.

Love your site. Was Lena's house in the last issue? If not, do you know which month? I really enjoy her blog and her taste.

Thanks!

Anyone know where that lamp on her teeny, tiny bedside table is from? Short, squat, shade as wide as the base. I've seen it a *billion* times! Never thought much of it, but after seeing it 'in situ' I think it's adorable--only, now I can't remember where I've seen it...
