mary alexis williams
lizzie garrett (the author of our la guide- stay tuned for sf soon!) sent along a link to her friend mary alexis williams, a risd student who produced these gorgeous little side table/stools. i was taken with them right away- "cut-out" is made from two pieces of laser-cut birch ply and can be flat-packed for easy storage. this is still in project form but hopefully she'll find someone to produce it in the near future- i think it would be a big hit. click here for more info. [thanks, lizzie!]

such a smart design and a beautiful way to design with very little waste. it's great to see students taking these things into consideration. i hope soon that one thing we all factor into what we see as 'good' design will be it's low impact on the environment.
Right, that's what I really admire about the design as well, it's smart as well as thoughtful.
Thank you Lizzie
alexis is SO talented, since she was little she always astounded. You have given her exposure and an audience, thank you thank you!!
