eames sofa
how incredibly cute is this sofa? i'm loving this eames 2 seater sofa at dwr. not exactly the sort of sofa you nap on, but man is it pretty. and, if you're in the market for a sofa, stay tuned for next monday's roundup of great modern sofas. [there are some dining chairs here if you need those in the meantime]

Love the orange vase in the top photo. I have one just like it - was my mom's from the 1950's-1960's.
I just can't get behind leather furniture. So absolutely unnecessary, and not very comfortable.
Can't wait to see the sofas. Any chance you'll be doing chairs (other than dining)? Love this sofa.
Undeniably wonderful.
I'm actually working on an article that will publish later this week about affordable takes on classic designs such as the Eames (as I lack the seven grand necessary to own one); there's a lounge chair available here
I love Eames' designs but I'm just not thrilled with how expensive the reproductions are. Originally the Eames team designed them for the masses, not for the elite. But yes, that couch is very, very pretty just the same ;)
I don't want to sound like an Eames fetishist, but this just seems wrong to me. It feels like an unsuccessful experiment that got put into production after Eames' death to extend The Brand for HM. The Eames Compact Sofa, on the other hand, is all Eames, and beautifully resolved.
Another rare successful example of a chair blown up to sofa-size: Arne Jacobsen's Swan Sofa. I look forward to the sofa roundup, though.
Very "the doctor will see you now."
