sneak peek: matte stephens (part two)

last week we caught a glimpse into artist matte stephens' birmingham, alabama home. as it turns out- there was more! matte sent over some additional photos today so i thought i'd ammend the first sneak peek with a part two. i'm smitten with vivienne's (matte's wife) pink bathroom (i love a pink bathroom) and its beautiful chandelier but you can click here to see full sized (new) photos of their home or just scroll below for the photos and descriptions in matte's words. [thanks matte and vivienne!]

[The first photo above is a studio shot: a vintage eames dcw eames sofa, an omelet shoppe sign from 1962, vintage dum dums sign, smokey bear posters and an english kitchen cabinet from the 50s. the photo directly above this is out kitchen counter: a vintage "Sama" espresso machine from the 60s, a vase that is from vivienne's mom from the 40s, ben seibel lazy daisy creamer, and an amanda kindregan hot cakes screen print.]

[This is Vivienne's super pink bathroom. There is an odd 1960s chandalier, a norman cherner plycraft chair and lots of poodles that my parents purchase for her at every holiday.]

[Our bedroom has a "Saarinenish" table, eames dkr chairs, heywood wakefield dresser, and a vintage travel poster 'pologne' from the 50s. You can also see Simon the cat and my blue bathroom.]

[This is my dresser close up: felted birds from LaurenAlane, vintage bottle opener and a detail of the 'pologne' poster.]

Thanks Amanda and Andy-Andy to answer your question i have no idea were Pologne is :)it looks like on the poster its in Warszawa were ever it is it looks like a swell place to visit. The outside of the house is pretty standard for that time period.I painted it avocado green which was its original color. It had only been lived in by one other couple and they built the house in 52.When we moved in the house had been empty for 11 years. It was like the land time forgot .
Amanda your work is wonderful we have it all over the house.I wish we had them all!!!
